i can’t touch my wii for 35 days
I got my Wii. I got Zelda.
I got them stashed in the closet, still boxed.
WAH.
The thing is, as a gift from my girlfriend who just loves tradition, I can’t have the system until Christmas.
I did get to play one though, a friend brought his over to the house to have his first next-gen experience. We had a blast, he took it home, I mourned and made a bunch of stupid Wii puns.
It’s actually not a bad idea to not give it to me now, since I have two huge papers to finish up so I can pass my classes, graduate and throw a huge graduation party.
Reading about people’s experiences with the Wii is driving me mad. Stuff like the Miis, sending mail, the interface in general… It’s making me crazy. It’s ironic that because of this, I can’t concentrate on schoolwork. XD
Hmm, anyway, dumb post because I’m frustrated. At least I’m not like pr0, whose Wii is busted. I’ll get back to serious videogame philosophy soon okay?

You have to wait? At least convince her to let you have it when you graduate or something… just seems totally unfair.
Here, use this technique: tell her that the sooner you start playing it, the less you’ll want to play it during the xmas break, which means more time you’ll be spending with her and not your new console! ;)
But I’m guessing unlike here in Australia (6 weeks), your xmas break ain’t that long is it?

Well, since I’m graduating, my x-mas break is FOREVERRRRRR!
Except that I’ll be getting a real job, and if I get the one I want, I’ll be moving out in January.
I can wait. I have a feeling this is karmic backlash from me importing my DS Lite. The thing is, the Wii is as cool as everyone hopes it is. It is amazing. I keep hearing new things that make me want it.
I skipped a class today to go to a friend’s house. I set up his router to play nice with his Wii, and when I was done I said “Okay, this was just a ploy to get ahold of your wiimote.”

My replacement Wii still hasn’t even shipped out yet. I’m really getting screwed on this whole thing. Hopefully the replacement doesn’t have any problems or I will probably cry.

I feel your pain, but at least you know you have one. I’ve waited in line twice. One for 6 hours one for 7. The first time they had 20 Wii’s, and I was 20th in line, but in the last 20 min a bunch of people came and cut in line (no one watched the line, no ticket system). The second time, this morning, I waited as the 6th person in line, after being told they were getting six in. They only got five in.
It pisses me off because I’m double the gamer than a lot of people who have gotten them. And the gamers that are socially akward, losers that have all the free time in the world to wait in line way ahead of time, forcing me to clear up my schedule to do so (though still for not as long) can kiss my ass. Go get a non-digital existence.

I already have Super Monkey Ball, Excite truck and a controller/remote ready too :-(

Seems like me and shep are the only ones who didn’t get a Wii. Everyone else who did get a Wii can’t play it for some reason or other. So, in the end no one playing with the Wii. :(

got mine today actually, and i’ve been playing the piss out of it. If you go to mediahussy.net you can read the ordeal I went through trying to get one. It was just unbelievable. I had to miss work today waiting for the UPS guy and I spent $40 on the train ticket to NYC. Strange enough, I’d say it was worth it.
I understand what you mean though Shep. Half the people in my line seemed barely conscious of their status as gamer, let alone Nintendo fan. It’s as if they were buying one because it seemed like a good thing to do.

And my internet’s been broken for the past 4-5 days. I’m posting from a secret location deep within a friend’s house.
Congrats, pr0. $40 for a train ticket, what the crap! I’ll go read up on it.
