ATTENTION! The first Game Club (official name forthcoming) project shall be Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrows. Play will begin this week sometime, after I know that Kammo and Vox-Pop are ready to start. Play will end when… well, whenever.

What? >.<
It’s a game club. Like a book club, but with games. Make sense?
What do I have to do? o.O
Simple. Just play the game, and join us in our discussion about the game. The discussion may span our blogs, blog comments and message boards, possibly IRC, maybe even through telepathy! We can argue, congratulate each other, comment on one another’s comments, make jokes… Nothing is restricted; you can do whatever you want to express your feelings about the game such as take pictures, write/record songs, draw, paint, cosplay, do interpretive dance… anything at all. Text, pictures, audio, video, it’s all fair game. Spoilers should be kept to a minimum, but don’t let that keep you from talking about specific things in the game if you want to. Since we’re all playing it, we should all know what’s going on.
What’s the point? >.o
The point!? Well, the point is to enjoy the game with others, share your unique experiences, and give our little blog microcosm something to do. It’s a little different from the usual “play, then post review” process of most video game bloggers. We’re not doing a review (though criticism is okay!), the point is the enjoyment that comes from playing a game.
Who’s invited? O.o
Anyone who reads my blog, basically. I have no expectations, just comment below with your URL and you’re in. So far, members include myself, Kammo and Vox-Pop. Any notification of IRC meetings/channels or other stuff will be done here. No attendance at anything or “play time quota” or anything is required, you can join late, you can participate a year from now. It’s completely open-ended for now.
I’m not personally advertising the club anywhere else yet, because this is the first try, and I’m keeping it simple. Advertising it and directing people here from your blog is perfectly fine, I just wouldn’t post it in a forum. That’s not to say that I don’t want new people joining, in fact, I’d love to hear from someone I haven’t heard from before.
Anything else? >.>
Hmm, well, this is just an innocent, child-like experiment, so have fun with it. Suggestions for rules or for future games are accepted. I’d love to do older games, because, though they may be harder to find in retail, they are emulatable, and ROMs can be distributed. There’s a lot of older games that I feel are very important and fun that some younger gamers may have passed up.
